Are You Mad?

Sophie curled her tail around herself, the one who had been there with her sense the incident was still silently brooding in the back for the patrol car with her. Despite her best attempts, the creature still ignored her and in the growing silence a new emotion had begun to settle over her.

She was not sure what it meant, but it made her feel unhappy inside, like the had done something wrong. Emitting a low mournful rowing sound she rocked back and forth trying to alleviate the feeling. Her companion remained silent, only leering at her like she was some kind of nasty bug. Out the window the strange world of the mammals flew by her in dizzy speed. They had taken her to the belly of one of their growling beasts and stuffed her inside, it was like a cage, but less comfortable.

The small gray mammal that controlled the beast was doing her best to ignore her as well. Ears folded back Sophie knew the little mammal was even more angry with her than the one she had met in the artificial forest. The one that had they had tried to get her to wear their small scraps of multi colored skins. Somewhere along the line she had lost the top that they had fussed over so much.

Emitting another mournful wail she shook her head frills. Her hatch father had warned her about avoiding the mammals in blue, and their dreaded black and white beasts. Now as she looked out the window she could see they were slowing, approaching a large building, it must be their nest!

Planting her hands on the window she beat against the invisible shield and screamed head rolling back and forth in a howled of dread.

They were going to eat her! She knew it in her gut, the monsters had taken her and now they were going to begin doing terrible things to her, just like she had been warned.
